If you want to Email Selected volunteers, you can type a simple message or cut-and-paste* from another Word or another desktop application (*use the Paste tools to ensure you don’t bring over any unwanted formatting when you paste.  The paste tools are the small clipboard icons). You also have the option of using a Template for standard layouts or messages and inserting links and image files in your message before and sending the email to your volunteers.

If you choose to Send A Notice to your volunteers, you must have an existing notice in your Notices Module. If you choose to Notify Opportunity, you must have an existing opportunity in your Opportunities Module.

Always include the name of your school in the Subject line to help easily identify from where the email is coming.  It is also recommended that you include contact details within the message.  This helps the recipient get back in contact with the correct person.

(Note: Creating a Notice is very similar using the Email Section option. The major difference is that notices are tracked and you can see how many were opened, bounced or accounts were inactivated. None of this tracking detail is available with the Email Selected option.)
