If you didn't notice since signing-in to the new version of EZVolunteer, you will find a new field that appears on your Volunteer List called ID_Verify.

This is a date field and can be used to select a date when you decide to take the additional step of verifying a volunteer's ID as part of your approval process. The motivation behind this new feature is that since your volunteers are registering online and then showing up at your schools to get their name badges, it can be a valuable security measure to ask to see their ID the first time they arrive as a volunteer at a school. That's where the ID_Verify feature comes in handy.

Since the field is tied to the volunteer's record and displayed on a school's Volunteer List it can serve as a one-time verification for all schools. That means the volunteer doesn't need to provide their ID at every school or every time they come into a school, just the first time.

The campus Volunteer Coordinator or front office staff can either work from their Volunteer List or print the list using the Export To Excel button. With a printout they can simply mark those volunteers whose ID they have verified, before handing the volunteer their name badge. Whichever method is used, the Coordinator can select any number of volunteer records on their Volunteer List and from the Choose An Action drop down select the option Verify ID. This will display a pop-up where they can choose a date that will then be added to the selected volunteers' records.

A Volunteer Coordinator can use the Choose a Filter drop down to filter their Volunteer List and view just volunteers who have been Verified or Not Verified. They can then re-export those records to get an up-to-date list of volunteers.

ID_Verify is not a required field on a volunteer's record and if this new feature is not something your district wants to use then you can continue with your current register/approve process. However, if incorporating an added level of security to tracking and managing volunteers fits with your district's policies and procedures we hope you will make use of this new feature.
